Living a curious life, in my opinion, is the key to living a meaningful life.
I believe our souls incarnate into this world on fact-finding missions to discover ourselves. Everything we interact with in our reality is trying to show us something leading us towards our purpose in life.
By staying curious, and exploring that which pulls at our interests, keeps a childlike wonder alive and well in our lives.
Curiosity elicits more joy, expands our skills, and develops our uniqueness we can offer the world.
It’s through our unique perspectives, collection of skills and experiences, that we begin to express the authenticity of our Self.
Being curious helps us engage in life, becoming an active participant, rather than passively letting life happen to us.
It helps give direction to life and can lead to unexpected gold buried for us to discover.
Curiosity keeps us open to new possibilities.
It cultivates a growth mindset, “I can figure that out!”, rather than a fixed-mindset, “I can’t do that,” or, “That’s just how it is.”
If we live in an infinite universe, then anything is possible.
There are unlimited storylines to choose from. From my experience, as I stay open to new possibilities, the story begins to change. New meaning is derived, seeing how every step along the way has led to now.
Curiosity fuels the excitement and wonder of what’s to come. Interacting with reality becomes more playful with curiosity. The external world is an expression of the internal world, responding in ways to reflect what is going on inside us.
Curiosity helps make life an experiment to see what works and what doesn’t.
What happens if I make this change?
How does the outcome alter with a new perspective?
Everything we do, think, and feel are variables to play around with.
How does life change when we change the ingredients?
There are no failures; just feedback on what does and does not work.
It’s all learning.
Understanding what does not work is just as valuable as knowing what does.
Allow curiosity to be the north star, guiding the journey through life.
It will lead to dead ends sometimes. But this is just confirmation a certain path doesn’t work. There's value in learning this about yourself along the way.
Often, the reason for a particular path will reveal itself down the road in a different context.
I can’t count how many times a random skill or experience I had years ago was just the thing needed in this moment. Maybe a skill needed to solve a current problem, or telling the story of a random moment in life was the exact medicine someone needed to hear in a time of struggle.
Keep the fire of curiosity alive and well in life.
It is the source of personal development and will lead to a meaningful life.
Embrace Curiosity
By staying curious, we cultivate a playful interaction with reality, seeing life as a reflection of our inner world. This perspective helps us adapt, learn from feedback, and find meaning in unexpected moments. Ultimately, curiosity becomes a guiding light, leading us to fulfillment and a life rich with purpose and wonder.
